Spirits have no gender as illustrated by Jesus’ statement when He answered a question about marriage after the resurrection (Matthew 22:30). Therefore, what people see as spiritual spouses are just unclean spirits that torment and influence them.

The act of sex in dreams symbolizes the making of covenants, just as physical sex is intended for consummating a covenant through the blood in sexual fluids.

Most of these covenants are made through promiscuous lifestyles, and give demonic spirits access to your body; which should be the temple of The Holy Spirit.
