Protecting your integrity in a relationship

The question of integrity is key in a relationship. Being in a relationship and maintaining purity is what seems to be a challenge in our society. In a secular world where the driving force into a relationship is lust and the desire to have great sex, it is a challenge for youths and even couples to be faithful and stay pure. If your desire is to have great sex in marriage, then you are to be pitied the most.

Some have compromised their integrity in the attempt to fit in a certain group, while others have done so to feel appreciated and loved by their ‘boyfriends.’ The call for purity is crucial. “For God has not called us to impurity but to holiness.” (II Thessalonians 4:7, NIV)

“Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
(Romans 12:1-2)

Ladies protecting their integrity

Ladies tend to be casualties as they are forced to compromise their integrity for the sake of maintaining a relationship which in most cases end up breaking their heart and reap-off their pride. There are many ladies out there who have become prostitutes because to them it’s the only way to ‘avoid’ pain and depression.

Someone messed up with their lives by stealing what was valuable and most treasured in them (their virginity). These ladies are causalities of sexual assault and rape. There are many ladies who have been raped by their boyfriends yet they can’t tell anyone because of the humiliation and shame.

There is a need for ladies to be cautious in relationships. A man who loves you will not take advantage of you but will seek to protect you, especially from himself. Ladies are vulnerable and therefore need to be handled with great care.

A man who wants to have sex with you in a relationship, instead of him being patient enough to consummate your marriage is one to avoid. Ladies guard your heart.

“Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.”
(proverbs 4:22)

Easy come easy go

Ladies don’t make it easy for guys to get you, don’t be cheap, instead make them pursue you for some time before your hook-up with them. This is because men like to be challenged. If you are an easy to get kind of a girl, then trusting me on this, “you are easy to let go kind of a girl.”

Don’t let strangers drink water from your cistern, it is meant not for your boyfriend but for your future husband. (Proverbs 4;15-20)
